January Lush Haul

Nothing beats a lush stock up! After this month, I've been craving a well needed pamper night, so as soon as pay day came, I had to take a visit to the shop. Due to my recent change in job I have been living on a budget and although I'd love to buy EVERYTHING, sadly I just couldn't. So I mainly stuck to my favourites.

As soon as I arrived in the store I headed straight to the bath bombs. I'll highlight that most of these products are in fact bath bombs and the first one i picked up was the 'Sex Bomb'! One of my regular purchases. This is all what you want in a bath bomb, endless fizz, bursting with pretty colours and devine smells. It's the perfect girly night in after a long day. It's also infused with soya milk, so it's perfect for when your skin is needing a little tlc. It literally leaves your skin feeling silky soft.

If you're needing a detox then the 'Big Blue' is for you! Its like bathing in the ocean but I would probably say you either love this or hate it! Personally I love it! It may not be as pretty and girly as the 'Sex Bomb', however it's full of goodness. One of the key ingredients is a type of help called arame, which is rich in vitamins and minerals, including iodine which helps regulate the metabolism. Also sea salt which exfoliates and softens the skin and lemon which clears the mind and helps you unwind.

Who thought this sort of wonderful magic was in a bath bomb? Only negative I have to say is it has added sea weed which looks a bit creepy at the bottom of the bath! Other than that, I loooove this product.

Next thing I picked up was 'The Godmother Soap'. This literally smells like heaven and has an identical scent to the snow fairy. Not yet tried it but I was told from the sales assistant that it lasts a very long time and was one of the main reasons I purchased it. It states as a hand soap, however it smells far too dreamy so I'll probably use this as a soap in the bath.

Lastly I picked up the 'Mmm Melting Marshmallow Moment'. It leaves your bath smelling of marshmallow and candy floss and is great if you're craving something sweet. Not as dramatic as the bath bomb but it does leave the bath with a beautiful dusty pink colour and creamy foamy bubbles. With the soothing cocoa butter and almond it's like jumping into a bath full of luxury. My go to
bath product when my skin is feeling a little dry.

Hope you enjoyed my lush Haul post! Ps stay tuned for another Lush review as I will be attending a blogging event next week! Can't wait as we'll get a sneak peak of all the new products including Valentines day range! I've said too much!

New hair and old treasures

Remember I was saying in my new year resolution post I was really wanting to get a fringe...well on Friday, it happened! I finally have some bangs. I thought I'd be a bit panicky seeing all my locks on the floor but it actually wasn't that bad. I mean my hair will grow back right?

Other than my new hair I've been pretty skint this month due to over spending at Christmas. I suppose it has benefited me in some way as I've resulted into rummaging through the back of my wardrobe and finding wonderful forgotten about clothes. It's made me realise that I do buy ALOT of clothes. One of my new year resolutions was to minimise unnecessary purchases so here's hoping. I just have to avoid Primark like the plague!

Anyways here's today's outfit! Consisting of my American Apparel mom jeans, simple crop top, converse and finishing my 90's grunge look with my leopard print kimono. It's my perfect casual outfit.

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Styling Parisian

Wished I was writing this blog back in Paris, instead I'm in my pjs tucking into some tea and toast. Only a girl can dream right?

Anyways, the main reasons behind this post happened when i was in Paris with my boyfriend. Not only is Paris the most beautiful city, but the women are always so elegant and chic. I've came to a conclusion that it's in their DNA to look that darn beautiful! Strutting down the street with their prada bags almost as big as them, I actually witnessed a dog inside a bag it was that big (If you've been to paris then you'll know what I mean). Another thing I love is they never over dress, instead, it's all about looking bold and sticking to monochromic colours which I adore. Also investing in a couple of expensive statement pieces. Think quality not quantity!

So my tips for dressing Parisian is keeping your outfit as minimal as possible, black and white are your best friends. As coco Chanel once said “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance". It is amazing how a simple outfit can make you feel so feminine with the slightest of efforts. Team your outfit with a pair of pointed flats, boots or courts and a statement bag. If you are on a budget, opt towards Mango or Paul's boutique. And if you're feeling brave add a fedora hat, great accessory to add a little quirkiness to your outfit. Lastly, don't forget your red lippy! My favourite at the moment being NARS - Red Lizard. It's essential trust me.

New year new me

A little late I suppose, but I thought I
would write down some New Year resolutions that I plan on succeeding or doing this year. When it comes to dedication i am not the best at it, this usually comes down lack of confidence which therefore results a spiral of half hearted attempts, or worse not succeeding goals. So I have decided to officially write these down as I think this might motivate me and give me a little kick up the bum, so here goes.

1. Drink more water - right some of must me thinking that's something you should be doing anyway, but for me I actually find it difficult to drink anymore than 2 glasses of water a day! So this year I really am going to try my hardest to aim for atleast 2 litres! The benefits are endless and it might help boost my energy levels back up as I've recently been lacking these days.

2. Dedicate more time to my blog - this is a hard one, as I do find it can be a little time consuming and trying to juggle work and social time with friends and my boyfriend it can be difficult trying to squeeze writing a blog post. However I will do my best to atleast upload one a week at the very least.

3. Find a new career path - so for as long as I can remember I have been working in retail. I have now come  to the stage in my life where I really need a change of scenery. It's definitely not a place i want to see myself In years to come as I no longer enjoy what I do so here's hoping this year I find a job that I love and actually feel happy to get up in the morning.

4. Exercise more - Yup it's the stereo typical resolution everyone makes! But this year I am going to promise myself to get myself to the gym. I even fancy trying yoga! i have heard it's not only for the body as it strengths and corrects posture but apparently doing 10 minutes a day can get rid of stress!!!

5. Avoid drinking as much fizzy drinks- Instead of going cold turkey as I know i'd fail miserably, I'm going to limit my fizzy drink intake to a glass every few weeks! I feel at the moment and especially over the Christmas season I have been drinking far too much of it, especially diet cola. This resolution came from a video I recently watched a video on YouTube of the effects of drinking cola does to you not only to your teeth but your body! Needless to say it was disgusting and I am now a little scarred from it.

6. Eat more greens - I do have a relatively okay diet and I'm not a fussy eater either in fact I have yet to find any fruit and vegetable that I don't like. Problem Is I feel I have is I don't eat enough. So this year I'm going to try and eat and be more green.

7. Get a fringe - for a couple of years I've been debating on getting a fringe, but this year I'm going to take the risk! I want a fringe.

8. Watch TV series's to the VERY END - Okay so I am so bad at watching the start of any TV series but I never ever finish watching it. I'll probably watch it to season 3 forget about it then wonder what actually happened. So this year I'm going to fulfil a few nights a week to catch up on some TV as there are loads I want to watch. I also have Netflix now so that's definitely a start!!

9. Prioritise where my money goes - I'm generally really good at saving money, the problem with me is i buy a lot of clothes and most of the time it's because it's cheap. However realistically I never need any of these clothes and it just becomes a waste of money. So this year I'm going to limit my unnecessary purchases and invest in more staple pieces.

10. Travel - even if it's just little trips round Scotland I'm not too fussed as long as  I get myself out my small town for a while. I love visiting new places, discovering cute little towns so this year fingers crossed I get a few trips planned.

The Fred Perry printed dress

The rain stopped for the briefest of moments today. So I decided to wear my Fred Perry dress and ventured outside with my dog.

One thing I love about Fred Perry is they always do really cute 60s inspired dresses. This one I bought about a year ago is from The Amy Winehouse collection and has to be one of the prettiest dresses in my wardrobe. Long sleeves which I adore, Covered in florals, and a beautiful burnt orange colour. It's the perfect dress to throw on to perk yourself up on miserable winters day. One thing I also love about the dress is it's quite versatile, as I've seen myself wear it to dinner.

However today I teamed the dress off with my favourite brown matte docs. I must say I felt like a little walking extra from 'we are England'

My favourite skincare products

Hello lovelies,

So since the weather has been awful and not had the chance to take any ootd pictures. (Literally I have tired but as soon as I step outside it rains again) Anyways I thought I do a little blog on few of my favourite skin care staple products.

I would like to highlight before hand that these products are suited towards my skin type being combination more so towards being dry during the winter months so  they may not be products that work for everyone's skin type.

1. Nivea light moisturising day cream - Superdrug buy now

What Nivea say:
'Hydra IQ Moisture Effect.
Hydra IQ supports your natural moisturisation via the skin's own water channels.
Promoting moisture flow between skin cells.
In-vitro Your skin is intensively moisturised and protected, feeling refreshed and soft all day long.'

My experience.
Back to basics. I love this product it's not as thick as the vitamin e cream to this something I can apply in the morning without my skin feeling greasy. It doesn't make me break out either and as it states and It keeps my skin moisturised all day.  It also smells sooo divine, almost a floral fresh smell.

2. The body shop vitamin E cream - The body shop buy now

What the body shop say:
'Hydrates skin leaving it smooth and fresh.
Light and easily absorbed.
Use daily for softer, healthy-looking skin.
Use fingertips to apply to face and neck after cleansing and toning.
Suitable for all skin types, particularly dry skin.'

My experience
Yup This little pink pot is a little dream! No other way to describe it. In the winter I struggle to keep my skin hydrated, but this product helps replenish the skin and my skin almost feels dewy and soft after using the product. I also notice that I have a natural healthier glow which is great for when my skin is looking a little dull.

3. The body shop nutriganics drops of youth - The body shop buy now

What The body shop say:
'Helps enhance surface skin condition making it look smoother and healthier.
Instantly moisturising.
99% of ingredients are of natural origin.'

My experience.
Having used this product for almost a year now I have noticed huge benefits. My skin feels smoother, less uneven and a lot healthier. I have also noticed my skin feels a lot more plump and soft and after researching the benefits of stem cell playing a huge part in the rejuvenation process and delaying the sings of ageing I think this will forever be involved in my daily skin care routine.

I have to admit I am not a huge fan of winter, it's the dark nights and most of a rain, which recently hasn't stopped doing In Scotland. It's so depressing... Anyways since I haven't been able to take any outfit posts I have decided to do a little summer wish list, which did actually end up in me buying most of it!  I know it's pretty early to be buying summer clothes already but I just couldn't resist as you'll notice some of the prices are extremely cheap! Wooo

1. Amazon chiffon maxi skirt
Personally every girl should own atleast one maxi skirt, if not then it's something you should invest in as you won't regret it. There are uncountable ways In which you could style with maxi skirt which is why it's always a staple piece of mine during the summer. And I totally adore this one I found on Amazon, I know right totally bizarre I spotted on the last place I would have looked.

2. River Island floral head band
Yup if you know me then you'll know I love floral head bands. They are a great little accessory for finishing off any summery outfit and are perfect for festivals. I normally wouldn't spend a lot on these as they don't tend to last any longer than a weekend at T in the park. So I usually opt for cheaper ones In Primark, but I spotted this one in River Island in the sale so had to quickly add to my basket.

3. Jane Norman embellishment maxi kimono
Another great staple for the summer, and currently have loads but you can never go wrong. I just love how kimonos add a effortlessly, laid back boho chic to any casual outfit. I have been looking for a maxi kimono for ages and when I came across this I had to buy it!

 4. Chic wish crochet fringe shorts
I have been looking for a pair of fringed shorts for ages! And finally found a pair on chicwish. They definitely have chochella written all over them. One day chochella one day!

5. Forever 21 fringe bag
I always struggle to find the perfect sized bag, either they are too big or so small that I can only fit my phone in. So I was really chuffed when I came across this in forever 21 in the sale. Finally I have my own travelling adventure bag this summer.

6. Chic nova crochet shirt
So I am undeniably obsessed with crochet at the moment, just wished we had sun! Hopefully though I get to pair this elegant  shirt with some high waisted shorts and boots!

7. Nasty gal quay invader shades
The Olsen sisters had a lot to do with this instant buy from NASTGAL. I love the retro 60's look about them. Still a little indecisive if they will suit me but I couldn't resist, look how glam they look?

8. Wet seal boho layered necklace
It's so funny as I saw something so similar to this in urban outfitters for about £20.00 so I'm so glad I came across this on Wetseal for like half the price, bargain!!!!

The Tailored joggers

Roll neck River island | tailored joggers
Topshop | peep toe sandals Bank
     Shoulder bag Topshop

So a few years back being caught wearing any kind of jogger track suit bottoms, you may have been called unstylish and was seen as a sign of defeat according to Karl lagerfeld. However recently the new generation of the jogger pants are back, this time not to haunt us, but inspire us to embrace practical clothing again.

I have to say I was a little reluctant to try these joggers that I found in Topshop, but as I am a little sucker for anything stating 'tailored', I had to try them on. I'm so glad I did, as these are possibly the comfiest pair of trousers ever! In fact probably just as comfy as my pyjamas. Just like the 90's joggers they are cool, light and come with no zips or buttons. So, destined to look unstylish and messy on, but they look ridiculously chic on and super flattering. Also, as they are high waisted they make me make me feel a lot longer so are perfect for those who are quite petite.

To maintain the elegance of my look was easy. I choose my marl grey roll neck from River island and created the illusion of cut hair style and without actually committing to it, I tucked my hair in. With it being winter I should have chosen something more suitable than these peep toe sandals I purchased from Bank, but the weather was dry and not too cold so I think I got away with it. Lastly, adding some pattern I choose my leaped print bucket bag from Top Shop.

Are you channeling the new and improved joggers ?

The roll neck jumper

Hello my lovelies

I hope you all had a wonderful new year. So trying to get a little better at posting regular blogs I have decided to pop up another post which will be dedicated of what I'm totally crushing over at the moment.

They are Cosy, oversized and snuggly! Yes it's the beloved roll neck jumpers.  My favourite staple piece this winter, and perfect for those tough wardrobe days when you are feeling a little lazy or just can't decide what to wear. It's definitely a little life safer. So if it's Skinny jeans you choose to pair with or tucked into tailored cigarette pants. Or maybe you've opted one long enough so you can wear it with your thigh high booties, these jumpers will keep your outfit super chic and sophisticated.

Oh and don't forget to tuck your hair in this season for extra credentials! it's also great for those bad hair days.

Here are a few of my favourite dreamy jumpers that I've recetly came across.

1. Topshop Cream chunky ribbed roll neck jumper (£46.00 BUY NOW)

2. H&M black oversized polo neck jumper (£12.00 BUY NOW)

3. River island khaki chunky roll neck jumper (£45.00 BUY NOW)

4. River island grey chunky roll neck jumper (£45.00 BUY NOW)
